Foundation Design
Nari, Tim and I discussed the different options regarding the foundation design today on the phone. I will be sending you an email that will give you a basic summary of what we discussed, and ask you how you wish to proceed. I just wanted to post a reference here to give you a heads up. Thanks, Brad

Here are some comments on the electrical layout:
Nari - I've added the Electrical Plan per our meeting yesterday for your review.
Tim,
Had a few questions:
1. We are not doing any change to the roof in the rear as we said the existing roof can handle the extension of the living room on to the pillar in the deck. Does it still leave enough space so that rain water etc do not fall directly on the living room doors ? How much of an extension do we need ?
2. When I see the existing and new right elevations, I see a vaulted roof in the middle. Is this correct ? I thought we are not changing any roof in the whole house except for the den/office.
3. When I see the existing and new left elevations, I think I see a lot more roof changes that I thought we are going to do. I thought we are not changing anything on the left side of the chimney. I understand the right side of the chimney need to change for the extension. I will have to understand this further to get a clear picture in mind.
Will call you sometime tomorrow to talk about these.
Tim, Looked at all the drawings. Looks great. Here are my comments:
1) Would like to do some stonework on the front to make it look nice.
2) Want to replace all the windows to double pane. So please show them. The master bed slider also needs to be changed especially since it has a dry rot in the frame that the inspections revealed.
I know you are worried about the costs. But my thought is that this is a one time deal for us. We would like to do as much possible (within the budget obviously). When it really stretches a lot we will have to look at cutting down at that point.
3) I see a slight indent in the wall between the extended den and the full bathroom. Why is that needed ? Wont it look better if they are in the same line. Another thing we talked about last week is to switch the places for the vanity and the linen closet so that the vanity window will face the front door.
Cheers, Nari
Nari - I added the new files for the contractors to give us a preliminary estimate
Tim, I cant see your previous comment. Not sure where the issue is.
