Design Meeting #01

We had a great design meeting and we will schedule the 2nd meeting for next week (Scott Clare wasn't able to attend until next week).  Below are some of the items we reviewed:

1. As-Built drawings and ideas doesn't include vertical dimensions so Tim will get those measurements in the next meeting.
2. Mike to provide DWG versions of the DOC files
3. We identified that we will try to achieve a Craftsman Style for the house
4. We went over some roof options Gable vs Hips and the roof material will be replaced (currently old wood shake roof).
5. Gutters are new and won't be replaced.
6. Hardiboard horizontal siding will be specified
7. Another material - possibly Eldorado Stone will be used as a wainscot to break up the two story high look for the addition.
8. Other details like brackets might be introduced to add character
9. Suggested adding a fence with pergola on both the left and right sides of the garage with a single gate for the entry side and a double gate for the storage side.
10. I suggested that we loose the Jack-n-Jill bath to give more room for Mike's office
11. I suggested to keep the soffits and existing lights in the garage (even though it doesn't fit the character of the garage (to save on costs).  Verify if cans can be retained while maintaining a 1hr fire separation with house (may require removal and new sheetrock ceiling).
12. Suggested planting ground cover in the dirt area around the fountain (possibly Vinca Minor).
13. Suggesting Leveling brick walk and filling in gaps with sand or mortar for walk outside of Entry.
14. Suggested making wood pergola for grape vine outside of entry.
15. Suggested getting clay pots to replace wood barrel planters.
16. Looking at doing an Olive / and maybe some Browns - for colors of the house.
17. Schedule meeting next week with Perkins and Scott.
