HI-

Please find attached my latest hardscape layout plan for you to review.  I have also included a typical elevation for the entry gate.  You do not have to use this look as you can always go to a gate designer who specificaly do sculptural gates.  I have also included an elevation of the wall that separates the parking area from Vince’s  office courtyard which can also be a place to sit with Clients.  Other modifications:

1. Chess board has been moved as well as seat wall.
2. Added cobble dry stream in planters.
3. Added stairs on north and west side of house which will cause the house wall to retain some of the soil and then a second wall that will bring things back to grade.
4. Around the house I have added stepping pads that will be surrounded with cobble and will have pea gravel between the pads.
5. Lawn area has been reduced on west side to eliminate walls.  It is also at a lower elevation like the path system around the house.
6. I have also added some contours on the south side of the driveway to show mounding and therefore eliminating the need for a retaining wall.

 

Let me know what you think.  Once we get past this layout stage I can add plant materials.

Hi Tim, 

Vince and I are fine with the latest plan after Ross put back all the trees that were previously drawn and approved on the old site plan. When I said "review with Tim", I meant to check with you if Ross should overlay his final color version on anything you are producing? (with all the changes and additions that David Crompton requested in packet he sent to you)  Can you take a look at the Landscape plan and let us know if you think we're still missing anything from David Crompton's check list?  If you don't need to send Ross anything and you don't see anything missing, then we are fine with Ross moving forward with producing the color presentation.

Thanks Ross. Please HOLD on re-doing the color presentation. We need to review it with Tim. We're waiting on the Lot Line adjustment files from Civil Engineering. I think you'll need to use that to overlay your drawings.

Here is the revised preliminary plan showing the trees on the slope exactly where they were in the preliminary ( I did find the plan as it was done in 2010).  I have had to widen the sheet to 30x48 due to where the trees are placed.  If this looks acceptable I will move forward to re-do the color presentation plans.

I can do anything you want.  It will be up to the City to decide because they want the trees grouped together in a natural look (not in a line) to hide the house.  I looked at the old plan and I believe I had put the trees in the same location but I will check again.  So, I will thin out the numbe of trees per your request on the South side and let the City decide if there are enough?

I'm looking back at the old landscape plan you did for the previous design (which was probably what the Town referenced) I did see some trees on the north side, around the 810 contour, that would be situated underneath the NE corner of our family room, going toward the existing oak trees. My guess is the Town would want to see them.

On the NW side and the South side where the berm is, is there a way to go "easier" on the number of trees to be planted?

Finally, on the shrubs required, the Town's letter stated they wanted to see them on the north side. Do you think it's ok for us to just to the north side, and not on the West and NW side? In other words, stop when we get to the spiral staircase?

There were only trees to the North-west of the site there were never any trees to the North of the site.  I sill remove the trees along the drive as requested.  Let me know when everything looks good to you as I will hold on the color plan if there are foing to be more comments.
