  • Current drawings reflect the removal of the awnings on the new elevations with new metal trellis above each window and a wire attachement between windows to allow vines to grow up to trellis elements.

    Tim,

Not sure I'm visualizing the metal trellis in place of the awnings. Would this go on top of each window?

Yes - it would provide some shade and allow some vines to grow up from the wiring (below).  I think we need to give the windows some detail definition - if we removed the awnings with no replacement detail - it would give the elevation a flat - bland look.

I like the idea of wiring for vines to grow upwards.

This is a very common detail in contemporary buidings - and very inexpensive to install too.

  • Alton,

The only change that I made was to the roof.  One of the changes I think we can make is to have a metal trellis like sturcture in-place of the awnings to give the windows some better definition instead of just having the windows alone.  We can also use some metal eye-bolts to string some criss-crossing wire up to these metal trellis elements to get some flowering vines to grow up and add more character to the front facade that way - let me know what you think?

    TIm,

The new front elevations will not have the awnings on the window. I'm assuming there are really no changes  shown here on the new elevations.
