  • Dwane - nice job - below are some tips

    • You should probably have a separate sheet just for electrical so you would have floor plan / electrical plan and ceiling plan as separate drawings
    • You only need 1-2 plugs in a hallway
    • You only need 1 outlet in the Master Closet
    • You don't need any outlets in the master toilet
    • You should show smoke / carbon dioxide detectors (one in each bedroom and one outside of each bedroom)
    • All Outlets near wet areas should be labeled GFCI
    • Add another outlet to the left of the kitchen sink and to the right of the cooktop (rule is about every 2ft in a kitchen
    • You probably intended on adding more lights (like pendants in the kitchen towards the laundry room, etc... but don't forget to show switches and the lines connecting either the switch to the light or 1/2 hot plug (or split outlet).  I know you are showing this on the ceiling plan but you may want to have it on a combined electrical plan
    • Make sure to show the height of the plug (typically 42" at counter height) unless you want it at standard height (low to the floor)
    • You also need to show exterior lights and the code is that you need to be able to switch an outdoor light from any door exiting to the outside.
