Fireplaces

Fireplace comments from Julia yesterday and today Linear%20fire%201.pngLinear%20fire%202.png

Tim and Mr Scholten,

Here are 2 photos of what we like for the linear fire place wall.

1.  Front Facing Linear Fireplace 6-8 feet wide will fit this space but please double check with Andy. We would like the height of the linear fire place to be 15 3/4 (B), 16 9/16 (C/F) tall. Andy said he will swing by this Wednesday or Thursday.

2.  We like the TV to be mounted flushed to the wall as shown in the photos.

3.  I was thinking the wall material to be marble or granite but we are open to ideas.

Thank you,

Julia

           1.   Park Avenue herringbone firebox panels
           2. 18 feet off the ground per Tim
    B.   Great room linear fire place
            1.  Double glass
            2.  8 feet wide
            3.  16” height of the box
            4.  Reflection porcelain liner
            5.  Media- Aspen logs and
    Charred Branches combo
            6.  Height off the ground - to be decided by Tim and us
    C.    Master bedroom linear fire place
            1.  Screen over glass
            2.  50” wide
            3.  14” height of the box
            4.  Reflection porcelain liner
            5.  Media- Aspen logs and Charred Branches combo
            6.  Height off the ground - to be determined by Tim and us.
  • I like the first one and the last one (images above).  The others seem to simple or plain (other than th Carnegie hall photo - which maybe too ornate).   If we were to do a "simple" one and not like the first or last one then #4 would be my preference.

I am going to message Peter at LMS to see what would be easier to fabricate or use with details that he has already done.

    Thanks - Tim

    Tim and Mr Scholten,

I have attached some images of what I like.  The theme for the living room is Classic, elegant ivory/white like Carnegie hall.

The fire place itself we could maybe go biggest of the standard size and not make it to go custom big.  Andy was saying it gets bigger than standard size then we will need power vent and that would have some noise and we want no noise.  What we could do is build mantle and decorative features around the fireplace like shown in the photos.  I like the first photo with tall ivory white lime stone.  We could do it in marble etc.  The look I want for the living room is Ivory/white elegant classic look like the living room and Carnegie hall photo attached.  I would like to have built in bottom cabinet for storage and upper shelf in white/ivory on left and right of the fire place.  Could you come up with design for the walls, fire place, and shelves and we could discuss?  I could look for more photos if you like.

    Thank you,

    Julia

  • Hi Julia - Copied your comment and image above from the Comment section:

I know you were considering the two sided fireplace earlier but think this will work fine and my suggestion would be to go with the marble surround instead of granite.   I also like how it is pulled away from the wall with surround lighting (let me know if you want this as well) - if we do this then we'll have to come up with a detail (which is possible) so you don't see the lights while looking at it from the sides (like from the desk area adjacent to it)
