Great Pictures - and I think it would be fine to go with a more modern / contemporary look on the inside vs sticking with a more traditional look. As you know wood windows would be the more traditional solution (or vinyl for cheaper solution) - but going with steel / aluminum / iron windows and doors produces a really nice look with more glazing then you can get out of Wood or Vinyl. My suggestion to save on cost (but we can look into this more later) is to go with Aluminum Windows (it is what I used on my house) and Aluminum or Iron Doors (and Iron Railings) as oppose to steel. I have done steel before but there are few companies that do them now (especially in CA for energy efficiency and cost)
