I've also made the following changes per our meeting: Split Roof Guest House. Increase Guest House by 1ft wide Increase Detached Garage by 5ft wide Turn Corner on workshop wall in Garage Increase width of kitchen window Remove all stucco  Reduce size of entry pillar (the left one so you can see through)

In law unit - Maybe need to jump on phone for more clarity/quick brainstorm

I'm kind of rambling a little here but we are thinking 1,000 sq ft, although great for resale down the road, is a little big. Especially with the garage on the left side, the backyard may start feeling smaller. 800 sq ft should be plenty. My parents have 717 sqft now so they'll still get an additional 80 sq ft. They lived in a 768 sq ft apartment for a few years in Fremont which was a great size for them, and actually not a bad floor plan (see attached plan "ardenwood", except the kitchen was a…

Kids bathrooms - Jack/Jill hybrid idea

So right now we kind of like the kids sharing a bathroom as it's a good cross learning experience and we notice they do a lot of laughing when they are getting ready for bed/school and brushing teeth etc.... 1) So, what if we create a hybrid Jack and Jill design with a pocket door in the middle that can be closed off when someones going #2 or when they get older. Stand alone garage sizing

1) Can we increase the interior width to 25' and length to 55' please. 2) How far forward can we bring the garage without it looking weird or out of code? 3) Using the internal garage spacing, I'm thinking the back 8-10ft depth of the garage could be a workshop with wall separating it from the cars to keep out dust and to maintain a clean look where the cars are.
