Social Networking as a Utility

What is a social network and why do people use them?

Mark Z. (the founder of Facebook) - in a recent CNBC special mentioned that people use a Social Network as a Utility.  He described it as a new way for people to perceive and interact with their world.  Since people are generally scattered over distances - social networking provides an easy way to communicate to multiple people instantly where it may not be possible because of those distances.  The world is becoming more "Local."

People also need a formal standard on which to communicate - but a standard that offers many options for that communication (like Forums, Blogs, Videos, etc...).  AllyLocal provides a structure for this network.  People are often very busy and a social network offers more flexiblity than a phone call sometimes but still gives options for instant communication when needed.  It also allows people to communicate with muliple other people without the complexities of coordinating a teleconference.

Use the AllyLocal site as your local business network.  Use it as another medium for your business growth.  Use it to form and stay in touch with your business alliances and customer base.

Let us know too how to improve it's utility.  As the network expands the AllyLocal team will be adding more features and will adapt to its member base comments and suggestions.
